This is a very easy herb, which is very useful for small jobs. Size (12 inches) thick weeds, each battery lasts only 10 minutes, after which the power of destruction in the near future. I have several times after the acquisition. When you start wacking weeds I think ... "Wow" is pleasant ... but after 20 minutes, remove the machine wired to the end (not wireless since the machine as "beautiful" at the time). I expected a better battery in the price of the product.

Does a really good job
I bought this trimmer last fall when we bought our first house. I love not having to worry about a cord and no gas smell. The two batteries are fantastic, we can usually trim and edge the whole lawn one and a half times before having to switch the battery. I love being able to turn the head to edge - our lawn is always well edged compared to our neighbors. My only problem is that after getting about halfway around the house, it's a little bit heavy, and having to hold both buttons at the same time makes it a little uncomfortable. However, I would highly recommend anyone buying this tool. It really does a good job.

Best thing since sliced bread
I love this weed eater. After years of using a gas weed eater and being beat to death with it I ordered this. It only works for about twenty to thirty minutes on one charge but an extra battery is included. It is light and very effective. The best thing about it is that you do not have to bump the spool to advance the plastic string. No more frustration with taking apart the spool to fix the string. It is very light and perfect for a woman to handle. No more numb hands from the vibration of the gas weedeater.

No problems, great power, great battery
I keep reading about battery problems but after 3 months of constant use and recharging I have never been disappointed. I have a large yard 1/2 acre with plenty of area that needs to be edged and line-trimmed. I keep both batteries charged and I swap them out after about 20 minutes of use (not that I have to but I know that that I need 40 minutes of edging time to get the job done so I switch). If you need an hour of edging time then maybe you should be using a gas powered edger anyway. I really enjoy this piece of equipment.

Still Feeling Trim Two Years Later
The purchase from Amazon was flawless; the trimmer was on by front porch within three days of the order placement. Amazing. Be careful opening the box. I got a nasty paper cut in my eagerness to rip off the box top with brute force. Inside the box everything was expertly packaged and protected with egg carton quality cardboard shell.
Luckily operating the machine is simple because the direction sheet leaves much to be desired. It displays as many languages as a United Nations guide, but all in small print, all directions overly succinct. What you need to know is on the direction sheet but not necessarily easy to find because of a lack of clarity and organization.
The small pictures provided require the use of a magnifying glass. The pictures aren't annotated with text, just numbered sequentially.
So far this handy trimmer has performed flawlessly from one end of Spud Acres to the other. On one charge I trimmed the front beds, the edges of the asphalt driveway, and most of the beds in the backyard. With extra batteries it's a snap to replace a spent battery with a fresh one. With the batteries included with my other Black and Decker cordless yard tools, and the Firestorm 18V battery bought recently, I have 6 batteries for the three tools. Even if a battery is attached to each tool, I still have two fresh batteries on standby on the chargers.
This tool easily rates five stars. It's quieter than my other two trimmers, has more than adequate power for my needs, and is easy to maneuver. At first I thought that the pull down edge guide was a useless gimmick, but it actually works very well. Also the automatic line-feed feature is wonderfully convenient.
NOTES - Be sure to remove tape from the line cutter and the spool. This bit of advice is not mentioned in the directions.
I bought three spools of prewound line when I bought the trimmer, but learned from the directions that one can use bulk line to rearm an empty spool. I like the convenience of using spools ready to use.
I like this cordless trimmer so much that my Echo gas trimmer has been gathering dust in the garden shed the past two years.

I went to Lowes, looked it over, bought one, plus an extra battery, as my friend said his batteries only lasted about twenty minutes. I've trimmed four cottages at the beach with one battery, and it's still eager to go on trimming. I'm using it and lovin' it. It replaces a gas powered, noisy trimmer, a lug the long cord around trimmer, and a trimmer that lasted about 15 minutes before dying and needing overnight charge. I'm hard to please, and this GrassHog does it for me ! ! I've returned the extra third battery I bought. Simply won't need it. Perhaps Black / Decker is improving their batteries. Very agressive cutting, also. Try it.

great for light trimming work
I bought this based on the other positive reviews I saw here, and I have not been disappointed. My yard is a little over 1/2 acre and includes several flower beds, trees, storage shed, etc which all need to be trimmed around whenever I mow. It's a good thing this comes with two batteries for this size of yard, since the first battery starts to noticeably slow down after about 2/3 of the job. The parts I trim with this are basically just grass, which it does fine with; it has a little harder time with thicker weeds, etc.
The things that are great about it are:
1. It is much lighter than the gas models, without being tethered to an extension cord like the plug-in models.
2. Instant-on: just attach the battery pack and squeeze the trigger and you're ready to trim
3. Not having to do maintenance on yet another small gas engine, worry about fuel/gas mixtures, etc

Works about as well as any corded trimmer that I have ever had. Battery life is no problem, it did my whole (large) yard with the two batteries included. since I have several other B&D products, I could trim the whole neighborhood if I wanted to!
Easy assembly too, and was delivered quckly.

Just snap in the battery and you are good to go. Not to heavy. An adjustable stick. Trims and edges beautifully and it even automatically spits out the cutting wire as needed.
