Easy to assemble and use, good value
I have resisted getting a weed trimmer for a long time, as I didn't want a gas-powered one, and I didn't know all the options out there for weed trimmers. I almost bought a plug-in electric model because of the lower cost, but when I factored in the long extension cord and the reel for the extension cord, I decided on the Toro. It was really easy to assemble, and I put it to charge yesterday afternoon. This morning, I trimmed up the backyard quite easily. I feel like it's light and easy to maneuver. It is designed for two-handed operation. I hope it stands up well over time, but so far, I am quite pleased with this purchase.

This is the best little weed wacker I have ever owned. I was a little concerned when I purchased it that it would not hold a charge for very long. However, I was wrong. I have used it several times to trim our back yard and have yet to recharge it. It is very light weight and easy to handle. It does a wonderful job will little or no effort. I never liked having a regular electric trimmer because of having to drag the cord all over the yard and then having to wrap it back up. The gas trimmer is too heavy for me and almost impossible to start. This little trimmer is the "BOMB".

Great Item - 6 years heavy use, no problems
I'm really puzzled by the reviews. I don't recall any issues with assembly, if I even had to "assemble" it. Seems to me it was almost ready to go right out of the box. I bought it from Amazon, great service as always. The comments about the string are also puzzling. Buy some different string, which you'll have to do anyway as you only get a small amount. Get the CORRECT line and I've never had a problem in 6 summers of heavy use. Of course it's heavy, it has a 12 volt battery in it and a drive motor, that's how it works. What were people expecting? It's still lighter than a gas model. As far as it not having a large enough cutting area, see where it says "7 inch" in the name? THAT is how big of cutting area. If you wanted more you shouldn't have bought a 7 inch model. To me this is the best "yard money" I've spent. No hassling with gas engines, no cords to drag around, lots of power. No complaints at all. **UPDATE** I just picked up a new one. It is MUCH lighter, and snaps together in a minute. Great improvements!

I purchased one to try it out for a son who lives in the country. He borrowed my corded electric and it could not reach all his property even with a 100 foot cord. I later purchased a 4 cycle gas trimmer for him, but it is always difficult to start. This Toro cordless 12 volt electric trimmer works perfectly. Its light weight and tough. It does the job. No gas, no exhaust, no need for ear protectors. Just safety goggles. Its so good I bought another for me.

I have had this product for 3 years. It works as good now as it did when I first purchased it. It is not scarey like others. Very user friendly. As far as the recharge, I hang it on the wall in the garage and plug it in after use each time and then it is ready to go the next time. I highly recommended it! Toro products are great. Worth every penny.
