Cordless Stick Blender

Cooking isn't easy. It's a skill that is acquired over many years and in my view is one of the most important skills that any parent can have when trying to raise a family.

The best way to learn to cook is to start young and to spend some years practising. However there are many ways to both improve the rate at which you learn and also to improve the results you get. One of these ways is to make sure you have the correct tools.

In my view one of the single most important pieces of equipment that any cook can have in the kitchen is a blender. A blender has a myriad of uses and in many cases can be used for almost all of the meals you make.

The range of different foods that you can make is huge. One of my favourite uses for a blender is for making soup. Whilst a table top blender is very useful for making soup a hand-held stick blender is much more useful in my view because it can be placed directly into the pot where it can blend the soup into a wonderful creamy consistency without the necessity to take the soup out of the pot.

Maybe you love fruit. Pureed fruit has so many uses, from jam to ice cream to drinks. If you're into making cocktails when you throw a party for your friends one of the single best things you can do to make the party go well is to provide home-made blended cocktails. And the best cocktails always use fresh pureed fruit rather than canned fruit.

Maybe you love ice cream. Unfortunately many commercial ice creams are loaded with all sorts of additives including artificial colourings, artificial flavourings and preservatives. And of course they're stacked with sugar.

So you shouldn't be eating commercial ice cream all that often.

But purchase a blender and you can make your own ice cream without any artificial colourings, artificial flavourings or preservatives, using real fruit, milk and cream and you can make ice cream to die for that your kids will love and which is way healthier than any of the commercial varieties.

Or perhaps the family just loves a great smoothie. A blender, either a benchtop or hand-held blender, will make wonderful smoothies. Grab some milk, a couple of bananas, some ice cream and anything else that takes your fancy and you can treat your kids to a wonderful home-made banana smoothie when they come home from school with nothing artificial or unhealthy in it.

So if you're in the process of learning how to cook, or for that matter an accomplished cook already, make sure your kitchen has a blender ready to be used at a moment's notice. It's the most useful kitchen tool you'll ever buy.
