Diamond simulants are grand competitors to real gems

Rhinestone is known as diamante is made from rock crystal, acrylic or glass. These are identified as Strass after the name of Georg Friedrich Strass, a jeweler who has coated the lower part of rock glass in order to look like natural diamond. And indeed, the Strass resembles adamant gloss, consequently, sometimes strass is taken as real diamond. Only buyers that don't have a clue of how real gemstone can look like can be screwed, the other - surely not. Rock does not have props of natural gem: solidity, refractoriness and life span. Cause is that both of these stones have different composition and nature. Naturally, its cost is considerably lower and consequently everybody can afford it, anyway it won't be a real stone no matter what.

CZ (Cubic Zirconia) is another popular natural diamond substitution in jewelry world. It as isomteric as a natural diamond. This feature helps it to look as a real stone. In any case, CZ is an artificial so to form crystals and in order to make them remain strong at standard temperature , a stabilizer is always required. Typically calcium oxide or yttrium are used for such stabilizers, but the amount of them is estimated by producers individually. The thing is that these stabilizers remain in the structure of the manufactured product. It makes the stone to weight much more than real diamond gemstone. Also, the CZ's dispersion is higher in comparance with diamond. That's why, it is that easy to deceive a layman and to convince him that cubic zirconia is real gemstone, but cubic zirkonia will sure enough break the high pressure test - just hit the stone with smth. very heavy, durable as real stone.

Other simulants will not succeed in either destructive test or thermal test, or even in both of tests. It can seem that not a thing can turn the diamond low-cost for population. All the same, in year 1954 a serious contender to manually grown diamonds was made - synthetic gemstone. It diverges from different gem replacements by properties, conditions of synthesis, composition and physical structure. Man-made diamond gemstone is synthetized in a laboratory under high pressure high temperature conditions, that work as real terms necessary for formation of a diamond. Man-made gemstone consists of the same material as natural gemstone - carbon. Lab grown diamonds do have the same characteristics as natural stones: optical, physical and chemical. These of the same solidity, longevity and glistering effect as natural gemstones. In addition, these are cheaper and can be found. It's possible to both purchase them on-line or at any jewellery shop. For those very exacting buyers laboratory grown stones are available in several colors, yellow, blue, green, pink that are super high-priced and occasional when are found in natural conditions. They are also might be bought as loose gems or as diamond jewellery. As you see, for the time being "real" diamonds became low-cost.
