Diamond tools and their multiple uses.

 

A diamond tool uses diamond crystals imbedded in metal segments to grind through your cutting materials.

 

The most common diamond tools used for cutting, grinding and perforating concrete are diamond saw blades, core drill bits and grinding cup wheels.

 

A diamond saw blade can be used on high speed gas powered cut-off saws, angle grinders, walk behind floor saws and other table mounted saws. Diamond blades are typically used for cutting concrete, asphalt, brick, block, tile and other masonry materials.

 

A diamond core bit is a hollow tube with a diamond tipped crown used for drilling through concrete, stone, brick, block and other materials. They can also be used for extraction of core samples for analysis.

 

A grinding cup wheel is used for fast removal of concrete, stone, cement and other materials. They're typically used for smoothing or polishing rough surfaces.

 

There are several different welding processes which can also influence price and cutting duration of diamond. A quick example of these would be laser welded, sintered or silver brazed.

 

One should also take into account whether they will be cutting with or without water. Wet cutting is usually the preferred method because it reduces the amount of dust, acts as a coolant and helps prolong the duration of your diamond blades or core bits.

 

For some cutting applications it may be impossible to use water due to electrical equipment. In this scenario you should take extra precaution due to the large amount of dust caused by dry-cutting. Always use proper safety equipment whenever power tools are involved.
