Fronteer Gold Inc Reports Positive Drill Results (AMEX:FRG)

Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Fronteer Gold Inc. (AMEX: FRG) engages in gold exploration throughout the world. Their business model is simple: "We discover and advance big deposits with strong production potential." I discovered this company through their release of press and stock movement today, and upon review of the company, I think they are worth the look. 

 
 
The company has a smorgasbord of projects in the world with three spots in Nevada: Long Canyon, Sandman and Northumberland. Nevada is noted to be the fifth friendliest gold mining district in the world and is severely underexplored, it also provides 80% of the U.S.'s gold. It was also noted that the Sandman project is in connection with joint-venture partner Newmont Mining Corporation.

Other international projects include an operation in Halilaga, Turkey and most interestingly a 100% ownership of Aurora Energy Resources, developer of one of the world's largest deposits of U92, Uranium.

It's hard to imagine a day when demand for Uranium and Gold both run out. 
 

Today the company announced high grade drill results from Silica Ridge, one of four deposits in the Sandman project. Newmont USA, the project operator drilled 19 holes and the results from the first five are as follows: 

1. 15.00 grams per tonne gold (0.438 ounces per ton) and 22.19 g/t silver (0.647 oz/ton) over 3.60 metres, including 43.87 g/t gold (1.280 oz/ton) and 51.50 g/t silver (1.502 oz/ton) over 1.13 metres, in NSM-172.
2. 16.33 g/t gold (0.476 oz/ton) and 18.41 g/t silver (0.537 oz/ton) over 1.52 metres, in NSM-168.  2.47 g/t gold (0.072 oz/ ton) and 11.00 g/t silver (0.321 oz/ton) over 5.76 metres, including 13.94 g/t gold (0.407 oz/ton) and 27.91 g/t silver (0.814 oz/ton) over 0.58 metres, in NSM-174.
3. 9.20 g/t gold (0.268 oz/ ton) and 11.23 g/t silver (0.327 oz/ton) over 1.10 metres, in NSM-165.

In addition to the gold findings, the Winnemucca Bureau of Land Management is allowing the company to explore further, expanding the allotted work environment from two to 39 square kilometers.  

 

 

Currently FRG is trading at $6.38 up .55 or 9.4% on a volume of 1.2 million. Investors seem to be buzzing over the press. Over the past three months the Company has increased from $4.83 to its current position and appears to be trending upwards overall. With all the wild events in the U.S. markets, investors have been running to the gold markets, and it appears to have trickled down to companies such as Fronteer Gold Inc.
